Spanish Fiestas

The festival of Cascamorras is one of the most colourful festivals in Spain.

We arrived on the day of the festival of Las Cascamorras in Guadix, Spain. Guadix and Baza are two neighbouring towns and rivals in the province of Jaen and the region of Andalucia. They fight for the possession of a statue of the Virgin de la Piedad. They cover themselves in earth pigments and throw water at each other whilst being chased by a man wielding a club made from sackcloth through the streets. Both villages take part and it's the kind of fun that takes you back to the 'bull rush' days of your childhood.

Our tours in Andalucia focus on making your experience exciting and memorable. The hospitality and warmth of Spanish people make visiting this region of Andalucia one to tick off your unique holiday list.
